The department of Housing, Planning, Community & Local Government is preparing a long-term national and local planning framework document for Ireland called IRELAND 2040.

Senator Victor Boyhan a member of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Housing, Planning and Local Government is encouraging local community groups and individuals to engage in the Ireland 2040 initiative.

Applications are now open for 2017 sports capital funding.

Closing date for registration is Friday 10 February 2017

The Sports Capital Programme is managed by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and provides grants to assist in the development of sports facilities and the provision of sports equipment throughout the country.

Grants are now available to sports clubs, voluntary and community groups, national governing bodies of sport and County Councils

The Sports Capital Programme online system is called OSCAR (Online Sports Capital Register). .

The Association of Judges of Ireland has said, not only must judges be impartial, but they must do everything they can to ensure that they are perceived as such.

Closing date for registration is Friday 10 February 2017

This would develop a code of conduct for judges, as well as oversee and support their training and develop a complaint structure for litigants.
