Victor Boyhan was first elected to Seanad Eireann (Irish Senate) in 2016 and was the first Independent Councillor ever to be elected to the Seanad. He took his seat on the Agricultural Panel and continues to hold that seat.
Senator Boyhan is a passionate advocate for local government and the rights of City and County Councillors so they can be empowered to fulfil their functions.
He served at a County Councillor with Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council during the period 1999 – 2016.
Senator Victor Boyhan is a regular contributor to Seanad Eireann debates and an active member of the Joint Oireachtas Committee for Housing, Local Government and Heritage and the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
He is also a strong advocate for Horticulture, Forestry and Agri-food enterprises.
