Victor Boyhan is an Irish Senator. He was elected on to the Agricultural Panel in 2016, and is the first independent Senator to be elected to a Vocational Panel, and not nominated by the Taoiseach or elected to one of the two University constituencies. He is a former member of Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council.

Senator Victor Boyhan is a regular contributor to Seanad Eireann debates.

He specialises in areas of concern to local councillors, local government and local enterprise.

He believes in transparency, openness and social justice.

He has taken an interest in the issue of refugees and the homelessness problem.

Government blocked mandatory disclosure of medical mistakes last year

Legislation allowing for voluntary disclosure has not been brought into operation

The Government amended legislation which would have forced doctors to tell patients about their mistakes last November, changing a key section to make the requirement voluntary, rather than mandatory.
